CAREER EXPERIENCE
Mr. Al-Suwaidi joined QatarEnergy in 1987 and held a variety of technical and operational posts in QatarEnergy’s onshore operations. Between 1998 and 2007, he held two managerial positions responsible for QatarEnergy’s gas processing and gas distribution facilities in Mesaieed, and subsequently gas production and reinjection facilities located offshore and in Dukhan. His responsibilities during this period included production and maintenance operations, inspection, and engineering. In 2007, Mr. Al-Suwaidi served as Deputy General Manager at ORYX GTL on secondment from QatarEnergy. He was later appointed as a Chief Executive Officer in 2009, where he oversaw the operation of one of the world’s largest LTFT GTL plant. From 2016 until 2026, he has served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO).

Mr. Al-Suwaidi currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Qatar Chemical Group Companies Ltd. Previously, Mr. Al-Suwaidi served as member of the Board of Directors of Industries Qatar (IQ), member of the Board of Directors of QAFCO, member of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) and Chairman of the GPCA Agri-Nutrients Committee.
SHIEKH KHALID BIN ABDULLA AL-THANI

CAREER EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining QAFCO, Shiekh Khalid was the Chief Engineering and Projects Officer at QatarEnergy LNG from 2011 till 2026. Over the course of his thirty years within the energy sector, Shiekh Khalid has led a number of critical functions including engineering, integrity, and reliability, reservoir and production engineering, and ventures management. He has championed innovation, operational excellence and sustainable engineering practices, combining deep technical expertise with strong track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects. He is strongly committed to developing future talent, actively mentoring young professionals, and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
Shiekh Khalid joined QatarEnergy LNG in 1996 as a Project Engineer and, throughout his career, he has been a driving force behind engineering excellence, sustainable development and organizational performance, seeking to consistently and meaningfully contribute to the industry’s progress in line with the objectives established by QatarEnergy and aligning closely with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Shiekh Khalid currently serves as a member of the Industries Qatar (IQ) Board of Directors, the Arab Fertiliser Association (AFA) Board, Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) and the HBKU Industry and Government Advisory Board (IGAB). Previously, Sheikh Khalid chaired the Audit Committee as well as the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Committee of Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), served as QAPCO Vice Chairman of the Board. He also served on the Qatar University College of Engineering Industrial Advisory Board and the Texas A&M University Dean’s Development Council.

Mr. Al-Hitmi has more than 20 years’ experience in downstream operations. He joined Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC) in 1998 and was assigned as Technical Services Manager in 2004, Maintenance Manager in 2010, Production Manager in 2013, and COO from 2015 to 2018. Mr. Al-Hitmi is currently the Downstream Facilities Manager at QatarEnergy.

CAREER EXPERIENCE
He has over 15 years of diversified experience in the oil and gas industry, encompassing LNG, gas processing facilities, oil assets, exploration, field development, and project management.
Currently, he serves as Assistant Manager, Oil & International Exploration Commercial at QatarEnergy Commercial and Business Development Directorate. In this role, he oversees all commercial matters related to non-operated oil assets domestically and internationally, including exploration and development. Prior to his current position, he worked as a Process Engineer in Surface Development at QatarEnergy. He was then seconded to QatarEnergy LNG-Barzan project for nearly six years.
Following his secondment, he transitioned to the Commercial and Business Development Directorate, where he served as the Head of LNG Commercial responsible of QatarEnergy working interest in all domestic and international LNG joint venture assets.

CAREER EXPERIENCE
Mr. Al-Amari began his career with QatarEnergy in 1998 within the Technical Services Division, where he contributed to the development and execution of onshore projects. Over the years, he progressed into project management, assuming roles of increasing responsibility and leadership. His career trajectory includes critical positions such as Senior Project Engineer, Head of Projects, Manager Pipeline Projects, and Manager Dukhan Projects, where he played a pivotal role in delivering complex oil and gas projects. He currently serves as Manager, Onshore Projects Department, where he holds overall responsibility for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of QatarEnergy’s onshore oil and gas projects portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, operational excellence, and project delivery performance.
